Well maintained and thoroughly cleaned. Tested and working properly - thermometer works properly as well. Cord shows no defects and switch works properly.

Hinge has a little play due to age but stands firmly when opened. During use a little burn off from the internal element will occur - this is not a defect - it is common until all residue is burned off during warm up.

Residue will make its way into the element during use and cleaning and is normal even with modern waffle irons. The waffle iron should always be hand cleaned - never put in a dishwasher. Makes an approximately 7 diameter waffle. PLEASE NOTE: The waffle iron is more of a collector or show piece but it will make a waffle as long as it is understood that it is decades old and will require meticulous cleaning thereafter.
