Vintage Henri G Reynard Art Deco Lady Print Loves Echo 16 1/2 Handled Tray 1923
VINTAGE HENRI G REYNARD ART DECO LADY PRINT LOVES ECHO 16 1/2 HANDLED TRAY 1923. This is in Excellent Condition with No Chips No Cracks No Breaks.
Very Nice Henri G Reynard signed tray. This features draped ladies with vases, a lake, a mountain and a cherry blossom tree titled Loves Echo. It comes in the original painted wood frame with a blue band and gilt accents. It has a delicate paper backing and the origina patent label that reads " Pateneted 1-9-1923 and Patenet App'd for". During the early years of the "Fox Hunt", Fox collectors thought Henry Reynard may well be a pseudonym for R.Quoting from Rita Mortenson's (1991) reference book on R. Atkinson Fox, His Life & Work Speculation among Fox Hunters has been high because of a series of coincidences: Reynard was, of course, the name of the classic fairly-tale fox; RAF's father's name was Henry; and (Fox's son) admitted to me that this was just the kind of humorous trick his father would have enjoyed. Some people consider the work of Reynard and Fox so similar that they had to have been done by the same man.
However, there have been scenes that were signed Reynard that do not resemble Fox's work, and there has been no connection between the two artists resulting in the conclusion that Reynard is indeed an actual artist. This measures 1 1/2" High x 12 1/8" Long x 16 5/8 Wide rim to rim. I have provided a lot of pictures to best describe the condition of this Tray. Be sure to scroll down, look left.
