You are viewing a nice boxed set of French knives with solid silver blades and ebony handles. I believe from maker's mark of L. With a press that the silversmith is Louis Legrand which would put the knives at the beginning of the 20th century. Each blade has a makers mark and a French charge mark of the Minerva's head indicating a purity of. The fitted leather covered case houses the 12 knives.

Each knife measures about 20 centimeters long and the case measures about 22 centimeters by 11 centimeters by 3.5 centimeters high. Overall the knives are in good condition with a couple of thin shrinkage cracks in the ebony blades and some shrinkage in the wood near a couple of the terminals. Some wear and scuffs to the black leather fitted bo x. This is an elegant and handsome set of knives from early 20th century France.
