French Art Deco Stoneware: Large Two-Handled Vase, Beautiful Blue Drip Glaze. This beautiful tall two-handled stoneware vase is an exceptional example of French Art Deco ceramic art.

Carries no visible signature, but its glaze is unmistakably French in how it combines a vivid blue with a golden beige. It is reminiscent of Pierrefonds. Denbac and Metenier in various aspects of glaze and form, but I can rule out both Pierrefonds and Metenier for various. I would welcome the assistance of knowledgeable collectors of French ceramics collectors in the identification.

This tall two-handled vase is particularly noteworthy for its. Glaze treatment, characterized by a heavy vivid blue that pools at the base and which is covered by a lovely golden beige glaze that flows from top to bottom.

The shape is uncommon, with an eight-faceted form that tapers toward the top and is complemented by two elongated handles. The dimensions of this classic piece are approximately 9.5 inches high and 5.5 inches wide at its widest point. The opening ranges in size from 2.5 inches deep and 3 inches wide. This piece is in excellent original condition, with no significant flaws noted. Please consult the photos for more details on both glaze treatment and condition.

This vase is a statement piece that would display well on its own or as part of a larger grouping with other French ceramics with similar glaze treatments. The bulk of my collection is Danish stoneware from the 1920s into the 1970s. The bulk of my Danish collection consists of Arne Bang, Saxbo, Jais Nielsen, Nils Thorsson, Erik Hjorth, and Ejvind Nielsen. I have done extensive research on these and other artists and workshops and would be happy to share that with interested buyers.

I also have substantial collections of American, French, Belgian and other 20th century northern European art pottery. The bulk of my French/Belgian collection consists of Pierrefonds, Denbac, Charles and Pierre Greber, and Roger Guerin, with some pieces from other workshops, including Gilbert Metenier and Alphones Cytere. Over the coming months I will be listing a wide range of pieces from my collection.
