A lorgnette is a sophisticated and elegant accessory that combines functionality with timeless beauty. Popular during the 19th and early 20th centuries, they were designed to be held up to the eyes by a handle or rod, making them convenient for reading or viewing objects up close. This lorgnette features a frame crafted from high-quality platinin (a white metal more valuable than silver but more cost effective than true platinum) used during the 1920's and 30s.

The folding mechanism works well, and allows the spectacles to be easily opened or closed for storage and use. The handle attached to the frame is of good size providing a comfortable grip, and is decorated with Deco era enamel inserts. Glasses size when unfolded 10.5cm. Handle size 5.5cm long.
