LIMOGES Jean Pouyat Limoges FRANCE Hand Painted Portrait & Elephant Handles Artist Signed Paneled Footed Cachepot Jardiniere Balluster Vase. This is the the most outstanding Limoges hand painted Portrait Cachepot or Vase I have ever had the privilege of owning. The details, blending and workmanship in it are incredible! Front and back depict two different hand painted polychrome scenes of yang women dressed in Art Deco style. The handles are incredibly molded elephant heads. The shape is rounded four panels separated with gold accents. The back bears the type 75a Underglaze Green mark used by Pouyat from 1894 until 1932. Signed by the artist EL WEBER. Measurements approximately: 8 1/4" tall 10" across the opening including handles, 5 3/4 across the bottom. Weight 4.5 pounds unwrapped, before boxing. Condition report: Some expected loss to the gilding. Tiny area at the very top edge with residue of a substance, or this may be a small repair, hardly noticeable in close inspection, please, examine photos. There are no chips, cracks or hairlines.
