1940s Primrose Art Deco Silver Plate E. P. Copper B. M Mounts 71 Cocktail Shaker

  

1940's Primrose Plate Silver electroplated over copper classic cocktail shaker. This is a great old item in terrific condition. The shaker stands 12" tall with the cap in place, almost 8" across spout to handle. The cap fits tightly to allow mixing of contents without spilling. The spout has a screw-on cork-lined cap for the same reason, it also keeps things chilled for a good while as it is quite heavy 0.8kg/1lb 14 oz.

The cork inside cap is in excellent condition. There is a built-in strainer to keep ice inside when pouring. The bottom is marked "Primrose Plate" E. Mounts, followed by the number 71. This was manufactured by Primrose Plate in Toronto Canada.

Great lines work with traditional, art deco, modern decor. EP Copper means electroplated silver over copper, and I believe that the BM Mounts means that the mounted pieces (the foot around base and the handles) are made of britannia metal. It has a mushroom dome top (slight dent), hammered copper design with amazing blue patina, and screw on cap in good condition. The inside is clean and fresh.

The outer surface has been left with all its age and character to allow you to chose whether to polish or enjoy its aged appearance as you prefer. Don't let this one get away!
