Noritake Lusterware Art Deco Oval Handled Bowl Vividly Colored Butterflies

  

Sorry for the photos, this lusterware does not photograph too well. The shallow bowl is in great condition with no light spots or damage that we can see. The background is a wonderful orange with dripping iridescent brown (that shows purple and turquoise in the light). There are two butterflies depicted in great detail.

The largest is a swallow-tail with a aqua and turquoise cross-hatch design along the outside edge of the upper wings, with yellow luster wings veined with gilt. The smaller butterfly has the cross-hatch design at the top on the two upper wings and the same fabulous luster yellow wings as the large butterfly.

The gilt on the two handles is worn, as is expected with a piece this age. The edge of the bowl or serving tray is also gilded. This piece is 7 1/2" from top to bottom and about 8" from end to end. This piece is 1 1/4 from table top to the edge of the piece. This is a gorgeous green marked Noritake art deco piece in great condition!
