French Art Deco Door handle-Solid brass-Belonged to the Bank of France in Caen
A great item found recently from a local antique showroom in Caen, The solid brass handle which belonged on the entrance door to the Bank of France, branch located in the town of Caen, Normandy, France. It has two fittings each end which can be removed with some force if required, there are also holes on the back for it to be securely fitted to a door The handle weight is just over 4.8kg Measures 60.3cm in length, 10cm tall, and 10cm in depth. Could be hung vertical or landscape? It is in good order with some obvious signs of wear to the brass, surface marks, and scratches for example It did take quite some time to get the brass back to its true colour and looks much better fully polished up.
